Let's begin our discussion

Jones (2019) noted, research has shown that adolescents have multiple issues, which are worse for delinquents... Policies and practices established by the juvenile justice administrators and legislators can determine success or failure... Policy decisions determine what supports delinquents returning home receive. Delinquent juveniles need support which enhances continuity of care as this is a critical component of youth success. This is especially significant for youth who have one or more diagnosed mental disorders. Delinquents... a high degree of trauma it is much higher than their counterparts (p. 1).

Jones, B. K. (2019). A Quantitative Analysis of Re-offense among Delinquent Foster Care Youth in Georgia.

I have found, through research, my professional and personal experiences, that the availability of community resources is a mitigating factor that increases youth success and strengthens families. Education, family support are core needs in our communities, yet there is a lack of access to those essential supports. How much money is spent on things other than people? We will interpolate and extrapolate the numbers to have an honest conversation for the next few weeks, months, and years. I pray that we can influence someone's thinking to support the community more.

Question: Are we doing something in the community for which we don't receive anything in return?

Collectively we are capable

I’ve learned a good bit over the last few years. Often times I find myself disappointed with the outcomes of people in underserved communities. It seems to me that we should focus on closing the gaps concerning access to certain services or programs. I feel to some degree we tend to neglect certain situations because we are unable to find a solution. Collectively we have the capacity to change situations by offering what we have. Question: Are we doing something in the community for which we don't receive anything in return? Respectfully Dr. B. Keith Jones
